September Night & Day Meetings Tuesday, September 23rd Thursday, September 25th "Giving Back" We will be making pillowcases and drawstring "Coping Bags" for the children at Gulf Coast Kids House during both September meetings. The children use the pillow cases to hold their belongings as they move from place to place and the "Coping Bags" for holding items that allow them to deal with the hardships in their lives. Please bring your sewing machine, an extension cord, and a power strip if you have one. Plan to arrive at 5:30 so you can set up your work area before the program begins. If you don't want to sew, bring an ironing mat and your iron - it takes a village! Margot Dutel from Gulf Coast Kids House will tell us how our donations are used. October Day & Night Meetings Thursday, October 23rd Tuesday, October 28th "Using the Shirt Off Your Back" Karen Williamson will present a lecture and a mini-trunk show featuring the quilts she has made from men's shirts. Her original design, "Eyelash Shirts", won Viewer's Choice at our most recent show! She will discuss how to cut the shirts apart and which patterns work best for recycling men's clothing. Free Motion Quilting demo at both meetings |
