May Day & Night MeetingsTOOLS OF THE TRADE Tuesday, May 26th Thursday, May 28th Do you have a favorite tool, ruler or gadget? We have all fallen down the deep hole of impulsivity; purchasing a special quilting gadget and letting it sit in our drawers from that point in time forward. This meeting will feature volunteer members who will discuss AND demonstrate their favorite thing-a-ma-bob. You might already own it! Bring a notebook to jot down notes, you might hear about the exact thing you are needing in your quilting journey! Here is a sample of a favorite tool contributed by Michele Hawkins who recommends the site below if you are not good at quilt math. Do you need help calculating the amount of fabric you need for sashing? for borders? for binding? for backing? for batting? Here is the site for you! https://www.quiltersparadiseesc.com/Calculators.php June Day & Night MeetingsTuesday, June 23rd - My Quilting Journey Thursday, June 25th - Almost Church - Improvisational Stained Glass Technique In June we will welcome Mary Marcotte, a GSQA circuit teacher who will present two different programs at our June meetings. Our Opportunity Quilt is still under Construction! "Pieces of Pensacola" Gerri Dewey and Charlotte Hinds coordinated the assembly of this quilt top to which members donated fabric and time. Members sewed blocks and also contributed hours of hand- applique' for the center and for the Pensacola Silhouettes created by our own Sandy Hill. There are 2,144 two inch squares in this quilt! Picking the layout, making kits, and then herding cats was all part of their job description this year. They did a wonderful job - PLEASE thank them when you see them!
